The Smart Contract Innovator’s Index aims to capture the true ethos of novel smart contract use cases.
The problem with the vast majority of Smart Contract indexes is that they mainly include layer 1, layer 2, or decentralized exchanges(DEXs) as primary use cases, leading to lack of diversity and high concentration of very redundant systems, that frankly are often just copies of each other.
Therefore, the SCII aims to select components that are:
- Is a unique smart contract use case or serves as infrastructure for smart contract functionality
- Excludes blockchains
- Excludes L2s
- Excludes DEXs
